DAY 12 – Do we need sport drinks?!
Do you sip on sports drinks to power you through your gym workout? Although originally designed to help high-level athletes rehydrate following intense workouts, sports drinks are increasingly marketed as a ‘healthy’ drink to sip on throughout the day regardless of how active you are.
The ingredients are designed to replenish minerals and water lost during heavy sweating. As a general rule of thumb, unless you are exercising for longer than 60 minutes and the exercise is high intensity (i.e. marathon training), all you need is water!
