We are two soon to be dietitians from King’s College London. We are therefore unable to give out personal nutrition advice. Our vision is to debunk nutritional myths and misconceptions in the media, and to help people make informed choices in relation to nutrition.
Both of us have been actively involved in research projects throughout our degree. As a result, we understand the importance of conducting research and critically appraising the findings in a reliable and accurate manner. Therefore, this website will only provide evidence-based information.
Using our scientific knowledge in an accurate and professionally responsible manner is a requirement of the Registered Dietitian’s regulating professional body (HCPC). This is especially important on social media, as there is so much confusion and misinformation.
As Fight the Fads, we have signed up to RDs4Disclosure & RDs4Disclosure UK and have pledged to blog with integrity. We are bound by an ethical code of conduct and will not provide false and misleading information. We will never make or support unjustifiable statements relating to particular products (as per HCPC & BDA guidelines) or promote one product over another (as per food industry regulations).
The material provided on this website is aimed at the adult general public and should not be used as an alternative to personal advice from medical professionals/dietitians.
All of the opinions on this website are our own and are 100% honest. We will always indicate if we have accepted money or ‘freebies’ (samples) in the process of formulating those views (as per the Internet Advertising Bureau: IAB guidelines). Our policy is to only accept compensation from companies we believe in and would already buy ourselves from or recommend.
A product mention or feature does not imply endorsement or recommendation of the product in question.
Any sponsorship or other forms of compensation will be clearly marked and will never influence the content, topic or posts on this site.
When other dietitian’s/health care professional’s opinions are sought, we will give them credit and link back to their sites.
