Raspberry Ketone Review

We’ve been asked repeatedly about diet pills. Among the most popular ones is a supplement called Raspberry ketones.

What are Raspberry ketones?

Raspberry ketone is a major aromatic compound that gives red raspberries their powerful aroma. They are also found in small amounts in blackberries and cranberries. Raspberry ketones have been synthetically produced and used in cosmetics, soft drinks, ice cream and other processed foods. However, it has only recently become popular as a weight loss supplement and gained the attention it has, being advertised as the new big weight loss easy fix!

Unfortunately, to our knowledge no study has been conducted in humans to prove the ‘amazing’ weight loss claims made by manufacturing companies.

Studies in rats have shown to increase the breakdown of fat and also to make the fat cells release more of the hormone adiponectin. Adiponectin is a hormone that is released by fat cells and is believed to play a role in regulating metabolism and blood sugar levels.

Thin people have much higher levels of adiponectin than people who are overweigh. Levels increase when people lose weight.
Some studies have shown that people with low adiponectin levels are at a higher risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, fatty liver and even heart disease

However, the results seen in isolated fat cells from rats will not necessarily be the same on humans.

The good news is that you can increase your adiponectin levels by exercising! So save time and money and get off your chair…

Although raspberry ketones supplements have been certified by the FDA (and are therefore safe to consume in the indicated quantities), this does not mean they provide the claims made by the product manufacturers. Until there is evidence-based information on the effect of raspberry ketones on weight loss, FTF believes they are a waste of time and money.

Instead of seeking a quick ‘pill’ fix, try to make small and sustainable changes. If you wish to lose weight or if you want to feel healthier and stronger- believe In yourself, and do it the sensible way!
